Base Amount = Amount Including GST ÷ (1 + Rate ÷ 100); GST = Total − Base Amount; Total = Amount Including GSTReverse GST calculator for tax-inclusive prices. Splits MRP or invoice totals into base amount and GST for all Indian slabs.
When a price is GST inclusive, the amount shown already contains tax. MRP on retail products, restaurant bills, and many B2C invoices quote inclusive prices. You need reverse calculation to find the pre-tax base and the GST component.
Base Amount = Amount Including GST ÷ (1 + GST Rate ÷ 100). GST = Total − Base Amount. Total equals your input amount. For 18% GST on ₹11,800: Base = 11,800 ÷ 1.18 = ₹10,000; GST = ₹1,800.
The extracted GST can split into CGST and SGST (50% each) for intra-state supplies, or IGST at the full rate for inter-state supplies. This calculator shows indicative splits alongside the total GST.
Example 1 (18%): ₹11,800 inclusive → Base ₹10,000, GST ₹1,800, Total ₹11,800. CGST ₹900 + SGST ₹900. | Example 2 (5%): ₹10,500 inclusive → Base ₹10,000, GST ₹500. | Example 3 (28%): ₹12,800 inclusive → Base ₹10,000, GST ₹2,800. | Example 4 (12%): ₹5,600 inclusive → Base ₹5,000, GST ₹600.
