Net worth is the total value of all assets minus all liabilities, representing an individual's or entity's financial position.
Net worth is everything you own minus everything you owe — the true measure of your wealth today.
Assets include investments, property, cash, EPF, gold. Liabilities include home loan, personal loan, credit card debt. Track quarterly for financial health. Positive and growing net worth indicates wealth accumulation; negative signals debt overload.
Assets: ₹40 lakh investments + ₹80 lakh property + ₹15 lakh EPF = ₹1.35 crore. Liabilities: ₹45 lakh home loan → Net worth ₹90 lakh.
Net Worth = Total Assets − Total LiabilitiesYes at market value minus outstanding home loan. Some planners separate investable net worth excluding residence for retirement planning.
Quarterly or semi-annual tracking suffices. Monthly is unnecessary unless actively deleveraging or investing heavily.
High income does not guarantee high net worth if spending and debt consume earnings. Wealth is net worth, not salary.
